Future: Better Tomorrow

Kolding School of Design
Module: Us

What if Earth's changing climate was not an acute event, but a long-term condition, and humans were forced to live more mobile lives?

We are in the year 2100. Rising temperatures have led to more extreme natural disasters, uninhabitable areas, and resource shortages, forcing more people into smaller spaces. The changing climate has reshaped how we live, making mobility essential.

Introducing HUMAN SHELL – a home you can wear. It offers a "safe space" for a mobile life with an outer shell that protects against nature, inspired by snail shells and Le Corbusier’s "The Modulor" to ensure comfort. The inner layer provides emotional security with memory patches and soft, familiar textures, featuring printed textiles inspired by landscapes.

This project speculates about a nomadic future and, as a byproduct, encourages reflections on empathy in refugee politics in our present time.
